River Room Uncorked
While staying in Georgetown this weekend, I discovered that I had very limited options for dining gluten free. I called several places to inquire about gluten free options, and I would just like to say that the River Room was the most helpful and seemed to be the most knowledgable about gluten than any of the other restaurants that I called. I'm sure it is a nuisance for restaurants to cater to special dietary needs, but for people like me it is not a choice and it can be challenging at times when traveling. Not only was the staff at River Room helpful over the phone, the servers on both nights that I ate there were also very helpful. I had the grilled chicken once and then the grilled grouper. Both meals were delicious! I just wanted to express my appreciation to your staff for their helpfulness and for taking the extra time and effort to accommodate my needs.
Thank you and your wonderful staff
Just wanted you guys to know that we ate at River Room last week. We drove in from Litchfield because of all the commotion at Murrells Inlet. We were blown away. The meal was beyond our expections and the service was awesome. It was so worth the drive. We will definitely be back. We had the fresh grouper, shrimp and the pear salad. All were top notch.
Living in Georgetown for 14 years now, the River Room has always been my favorite place to eat.
The food is always excellent every time. I never have to be concerned about sending my charter customers there to eat, for I know they will always enjoy their dinner.
Great night, food was perfect and service was outstanding!
Lindsey Moore was fluid, timing perfect and managed to flow in and out in without interrupting our girl time non stop chatter!
Casual and Very Good Food
We have been here twice for lunch and enjoyed both visits. This was our first time for dinner and everyone was completely satisfied. I had the Duck Breast Special served with 2 sides and a salad, others had a Seafood melody and Chicken Salads. All were deemed good. Service was fast and friendly. Our waitress, Kim, had a great sense of humor. The view of the River and Dock were very nice. Would not hesitate to dine here again when in Georgetown.
A must in Georgetown!
Clean, courteous staff. Four of us in the area went for dinner on Fat Tuesday. One in the party opted for the Gumbo special, everyone else ordered from the menu. All entrees the Shrimp and Grits, Shrimp with tomato cream sauce and the Shrimp and Scallops were awesome. Wine and mixed drinks were very good as well. Although we didn't save room for the Bread Pudding, we might have to return just for that.
Best in Georgetown!
After reading what the people from the lands across the Mason-Dixon Line said. I want to say that I have always had the best food in Georgetown. The crab cakes and the steaks ar alway great and always good service.
Lunch here made us like Georgetown even more!
The day was beautiful, the Kaminski House tour worth every minute, and our lunch here made the visit completely satisfying. My husband had the softshell crab sandwich and I had Caesar salad with fried oysters. We split the bread pudding for dessert (unable to resist it after we saw three orders pass our table!). Everything was delicious, the room cozy and comfortable, and the service neither rushed nor dragging. Robin, who waited on us, was fantastically welcoming and helpful--and fun!
My hometown 'go to' everytime!
I have been eating at the RiverRoom for all of their 25 years. I have NEVER had a bad experience with either the food or service. Sally runs an excellent establishment and Joe Ohara is an excellent Chef. The Herb encrusted Grouper with citris mojo is my favorite seafood dish and the Ribeye Oscar my beef dish. The appetizers are excellent and always a family favorite. My daughter LOVES the Peanut Butter pie for dessert. Visit them for lunch or dinner and I think you will agree.
